چکیده
a compressive strength of 2,200 psi and the other with a compressive strength of 3,500 psi, were the most satisfactory for cementing temporary restorations. The data collected, however, were not sufficient in quantity to differentiate between the two cements. There was the possibility that one or the other of the two cements might prove superior, and this investigation was undertaken to collect further data and explore this possibility.

Clinical studies of dental cements. 3. Seven zinc oxide-eugenol cements used for temporarily cementing completed restorations.
Seven zinc oxide-eugenol cements with compressive strengths from 200 psi to 8,000 psi were used for temporarily cementing completed inlays, crowns, and bridges. The effectiveness of each cement in a variety of clinical situations is presented. Cement of 1,000 psi met the requirements of typical clinical cases most frequently. The cements of compressive strength 200, 400, 600, 2,200, and 3,500 p...
متن کاملClinical studies of dental cements. I. Five zinc oxide-eugenol cements.
Zinc oxide-eugenol cements have long been used to cement temporary restorations in teeth prepared for inlays, crowns, or fixed bridges,1'2 and a variety of products is available to the dentist. During the last 25 years, the physical properties of these materials have been studied, and numerous improvements in physical characteristics and manipulative qualities have been achieved.3 't Little inf...

A clinical trial for the final cementation of crowns and bridges with a reinforced zinc oxide and eugenol cement, a polyacrylic acid cement and a zinc phosphate cement was made over a 3-year period. The study involved 441 patients for whom 547 bridges and 162 single restorations were cemented. The patients were recalled at 6-month intervals for the duration of the study and the restorations wer...

The Phenolate Cement Zinc oxide-eugenol cements have always been regarded as the blandest in terms of their effect on the dental pulp. For this reason, these materials were commonly used as the control in biocompatibility pulp research studies on cements and restorative materials. Zinc oxide-eugenol cements have traditionally been used as temporary restoratives because of the sedative effect on...
متن کاملTraction test of temporary dental cements
BACKGROUND Classic self-curing temporary cements obstruct the translucence of provisional restorations. New dual-cure esthetic temporary cements need investigation and comparison with classic cements to ensure that they are equally retentive and provide adequate translucence. The objective is to analyze by means of traction testing in a in vitro study the retention of five temporary cements. ...
